अपश्यत्स यमं तत्र देवमग्निपुरस्कृतम् । विधानमुपतिष्ठन्तं प्राणिनो यस्य यादृशम् ॥
Roman Transliteration (IAST)
apaśyatsa yamaṃ tatra devamagnipuraskṛtam | vidhānamupatiṣṭhantaṃ prāṇino yasya yādṛśam ||
English Scholarly Translation
There he saw that god Yama sitting in front of fire and offering into it the good and evil fruits of their actions. * *Ordaining happiness and misery to the lives of people according to their acts.'
