Are simultaneous submissions accepted?
Yes. If you submit your pitch or draft to other publications simultaneously, please inform us in your pitch cover note and notify us immediately if it is accepted elsewhere.
Can I write in a language other than English?
Poorvam Ideas primarily publishes in English, but we also welcome multilingual essays with translations in Sanskrit, Hindi, or Bengali. If you wish to write entirely in Bengali, please consider submitting to our sister literary publication, ‘আনুপূর্বী’ (Anupurvi).
How should citations and references be formatted?
We prefer hyperlinked citations within the text. If you cite books or non-digital classical sources, you may include brief parenthetical citations or a clean "Further Reading / References" section at the end of the manuscript.
Can I submit an essay adapted from an academic thesis or lecture?
Yes, provided it is substantially reworked and rewritten for an intelligent general readership, stripping away academic jargon and literature-review boilerplate to highlight the central argument.
