teṣāmanyonyamāsādya saṃgrāmaḥ sumahānabhūt | bahūnāmaśmavṛṣṭiṃ ca śaravṛṣṭiṃ ca varṣatām ||
English Scholarly Translation
And each party approaching the other, great was the encounter that took place. And innumerable (monkeys and Rākṣasas) kept showering rocks and arrows.
