Abstract

The article provides a comprehensive scientific analysis of the content and functional typology of Kazakh-language internet resources in the context of the modern digital era. The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that the internet space has become a new communicative platform for linguistic interaction, while the functioning of the Kazakh language in the digital environment has not yet been systematically studied. The author differentiates the concepts of information resource and internet resource and reviews their legal and theoretical definitions. Based on the classification models proposed by both domestic and foreign scholars (Ya. Zasursky, A. Kalmykov, L. Kokhanova, H. Zins, etc.), the article proposes an integrative classification approach that characterizes Kazakhstan’s digital media landscape. During the research, a content analysis of about 40 of the most influential web resources of Kaznet was conducted based on data from the analytical platforms Similarweb and Zero.kz, within four main functional groups (information-media, communicative, commercial, and educational resources). In addition, the level of user participation (passive, active, interactive) and the technological structure of resources (static, dynamic, and platform-based) were examined separately. The results of the study reveal the structural characteristics of the Kazakh-language internet segment and substantiate the importance of expanding the functional potential of national content. This work serves as an important empirical basis for philological and media-linguistic research.
