Abstract
<jats:p>The article analyzes the role of gymnastics in the physical education system of general secondary education and its multifaceted impact on students’ physical development from scientific-theoretical and practical perspectives. The study substantiates the significant role of gymnastics in strengthening the musculoskeletal system, forming correct posture, and developing key physical qualities such as flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination. It also demonstrates that gymnastics classes enhance the functional capabilities of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, improve overall physical performance, and reduce risks associated with physical inactivity. As a result, it is concluded that gymnastics is an indispensable pedagogical tool for fostering a healthy lifestyle and ensuring the harmonious physical development of students in general secondary education.</jats:p>
