Abstract

<jats:p>This article examines digital storytelling as a distinct type of discourse emerging at the intersection of traditional narrative practices and contemporary digital media. The study analyzes various approaches that interpret storytelling as a tool of media communication, a pedagogical technology, a form of transmedia narration, and an instrument of political and corporate communication. Particular attention is given to the multimodal nature of digital storytelling, which integrates verbal, visual, audio, and interactive elements into a unified communicative framework. The article argues that digital storytelling performs not only informational but also cognitive and emotional functions, facilitating audience engagement and the construction of stable meaning structures. Furthermore, it highlights the role of digital storytelling in enhancing communicative effectiveness, attracting audience attention, and promoting sociocultural values within digital environments. The study concludes that digital storytelling represents one of the most effective mechanisms for organizing and shaping contemporary communicative spaces.</jats:p>
