XIX ASR OXIRI – XX ASR BOSHLARIDA NAMANGAN UYEZDINING IJTIMOIY HAYOTI, SOCIAL LIFE OF NAMANGAN UYEZD IN THE LATE 19TH AND EARLY 20TH CENTURIES, СОЦИАЛЬНАЯ ЖИЗНЬ НАМАНГАНСКОГО УЕЗДА В КОНЦЕ XIX – НАЧАЛЕ XX ВЕКА

<jats:p>This article analyzes the lifestyle, economic activities, and principal occupations of the population of Namangan Uyezd on the basis of historical sources. It also examines the changes that occurred in the social and ethnic composition of the uyezd's population during the period of Russian imperial rule. The study reveals the essence of the tax policy introduced by the imperial administration and its impact on the socio-economic life of the population of Namangan Uyezd. These issues are analyzed in close connection with the social processes and transformations in the living conditions of the local population that took place in the region.</jats:p>
