Abstract

<jats:p>The study guide Applied PR: Mastering Modern Public Relations has been developed in accordance with the Higher Education Educational Standard of MGIMO University and is intended for students enrolled in the degree programme “Advertising and Public Relations” who possess a professional level of English profi ciency (C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). The materials presented may also be of value to practising professionals seeking to deepen their command of industry-specifi c terminology in English, as well as to learners of English for Specifi c Purposes (ESP) in the context of strategic communications. The publication examines the key areas of the contemporary PR industry, including the fundamentals of the discipline, ethics and law, corporate social responsibility, media relations, crisis and confl ict management, activism and propaganda, client and internal communications, as well as the specifi c features of public relations in the fields of politics, fi nance, and the entertainment industry.</jats:p>
