Abstract
<jats:p>This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the state of electricity production by hydroelectric power plants for the period 2020-2024. The study examined the role of hydropower in the national energy system, the dynamics of production, the changes in installed power and the performance indicators of the use of power. Also, the role of hydropower in ensuring the stability of the power grid, its leading role among renewable energy sources and risk factors associated with seasonal variability of Water Resources were highlighted. Scientific and practical proposals have been developed aimed at sustainable development of the hydropower sector, ensuring energy security and increasing the share of environmentally friendly energy sources</jats:p>
