Abstract
<jats:p>This article highlights the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan to develop pilgrimage tourism, state policy in this area, and the economic significance of tourism. It analyzes the country’s rich historical and cultural heritage, sacred sites, and the legacy of scholars who contributed to the development of Islamic civilization as key factors of pilgrimage tourism. The study also provides information on the tourism potential of well-known pilgrimage sites in Samarkand, Bukhara, Khorezm, Surkhandarya, and other regions. Furthermore, it examines measures taken to recover the tourism sector in the post-COVID-19 period, develop infrastructure, and attract foreign tourists. The article emphasizes that the development of pilgrimage tourism plays an important role in strengthening the national economy, improving public welfare, and enhancing Uzbekistan’s international reputation. </jats:p>
