Abstract
<jats:p>The purpose of the study is to reveal, using the example of the Adaptive Physical Culture competence, the potential of the Abilympics movement as a means of socio-pedagogical adaptation and professional orientation for people with disabilities in the university environment of PetrSU. Research methods: analysis of theoretical sources on the issue of socio-pedagogical adaptation, questionnaire survey. Research results and conclusions. An assessment of the accessibility of Petrozavodsk State University’s sports facilities has been conducted. The final results objectively confirm a high level of satisfaction with the organization of the championship. It has been established that participation in the championship ensures the implementation of all components of socio-pedagogical adaptation: cognitive, emotional-value, motivational-willpower, and activity-reflective. The compliance of the competition tasks with the educational programs being mastered has been proven. Examples of successful employment of championship participants in their specialties have been recorded. The "Abilympics" championship in the Adaptive Physical Culture competency serves as an effective platform, providing comprehensive socio-pedagogical adaptation through the interconnection of cognitive, emotional-value, motivational-willpower, and activity-reflective components.</jats:p>
