Abstract

<jats:p>Relevance. Adult myopia is extremely common worldwide with a continued rise even after eye growth cessation, making research on risk factors, pathogenesis, and control methods particularly important. Purpose of the study. To analyze current literature on adult myopia over the past 10–15 years. Material and methods. Systematic review of PubMed, PMC, OpenAlex, Lens.org, ArXiv, and Russian/Uzbek databases (keywords: “adult myopia,” “myopia progression in adults,” etc., 2010–2026). Conclusion. Despite progress in understanding pathogenesis, risk factors, and complications, gaps remain in long-term efficacy of control methods and personalized therapies for adults.</jats:p>
