Abstract
The façades of the Gorodok Chekistov buildings designed by I.P. Antonov and V.D. Sokolov and the Uraloblsovet housing blocks designed by M.Ya. Ginzburg are used as examples to illustrate compositional analysis of façades using architectural ordinates and oblique exploratory lines for identifying architectural order within their systemic organization. It is concluded that Russian architects had a profound understanding and ability to apply the principles and properties of architectural ordering up until the mid-1950s.
