Abstract

This paper explores the socio-economic and institutional history of the village of Tolinci in Srem during the first half of the 18th century, with particular emphasis on processes of agrarian transformation and village dissolution. The focus is placed on reconstructing socio-economic relations through the structure of land holdings and demographic trends, from Ottoman administration to incorporation into the Habsburg Military Border system. Through the analysis of archival sources, the study identifies stages of economic transition and administrative incorporation, including social tensions and migratory shifts. The research highlights significant moments of institutional reorganization within the broader context of imperial reforms and opens space for further inquiry into the territorial structure of Srem prior to and during the 18th century.
