Abstract
This chapter examines gendered citation gaps in Indian academia through an integrated approach combining systematic bibliometric analysis with autoethnographic narrative.Drawing on a corpus of 22 articles examining gender and citation patterns, we present empirical evidence of profound citation inequalities where women scholars receive substantially lower citation rates (0.24%) compared to male counterparts (0.88%). Through personal narrative interwoven with structural analysis, the chapter reveals how citation practices function as instruments of academic power that privilege certain voices while rendering others invisible.
