Abstract

<jats:p>Pruritus is one of the most common dermatological symptoms in elderly individuals and can significantly impact quality of life. The assessment of chronic pruritus may require a comprehensive physical examination and medical history, along with various laboratory tests and imaging techniques. Understanding the underlying causes and mechanisms of pruritus in elderly patients is crucial for accurate evaluation. Treatment options for managing pruritus in elderly patients are similar to those used for younger adults.</jats:p>
