Abstract
The article presents the results of an analysis of assessments of the controllability of vehicles with an on-board turn method. The main verification methods are described, their main advantages and disadvantages are shown. A methodology is proposed for assessing the influence of the vehicle's structural parameters on its controllability. A mathematical model of the control action on a vehicle has been developed for its movement along a trajectory that meets the requirements of Global Technical Regulations No. 8 for vehicles equipped with a steering wheel rotation mechanism. A method is proposed for experimentally verifying the obtained results of controllability and stability of movement along a given trajectory, based on the same controlled parameters as for vehicles with controlled wheels: the total amount of vehicle displacement and the amount of lateral velocity at the end of the maneuver. The results obtained allow us to identify the most effective ways to improve the controllability and stability of vehicles with an on-board turn method.
