Abstract
<jats:p>The analysis of the idiom lew salonowy (‘socialite’) in texts from 1876 to 2020 is motviated by the need to assess its semantic and pragmatic stability within a changing cultural and linguistic context. Based on 51 literary and press texts drawn from four electronic corpora, the study examines the semantic consistency of the unit and the emotional tone of the utterances in which it occurs. The application of computational sentiment analysis using the CLARIN-PL MultiEmo tool enables the evaluation of emotional polarity and the identification of potential shifts in the idiom’s evaluative meaning. The results reveal varia on in tone depending on context and grammacacal category. The study demonstrates the value of combining corpus-based methods with artificial intelligence tools in historical linguistic research.</jats:p>
