Abstract

This chapter traces a philosophical genealogy of the concept of practice itself - from Attic Greek and Latin through to French, German and English, on the one hand, and from Aristotle to contemporary philosophy via Kant, Marx and Freud on the other. In doing so, it frames Deleuze’s claim for a radical constructivism in both philosophy and art, and, ultimately, between them, in a syncretic zone of mutual interference and provocation.
