Abstract
<jats:p>The article defines health care as priority of preventive medicine. The high natality in Dagestan is supported by traditional values, influence of tribal and community structures, low level of urbanization and religious and ethno-cultural characteristics of nations. The purpose of the study is to analyze determinants affecting individual health and to formulate practical recommendations promoting healthy life-style. The research methods included anonymous survey of 478 patients of polyclinics of Makhachkala in 2023–2024 and subsequent statistical processing using the Statistica 6.0 software.</jats:p>
