Abstract

This study is devoted to the legal foundations of integration activities in the EAEU in the context of the transition to sustainable development. Achieving the SDGs within the framework of the 2030 Agenda is an important goal of the UN member states, and in the course of implementing this policy, the mechanism of inter-country cooperation based on regional integration associations is becoming particularly relevant. The article reveals the formation of a long-term development strategy, the creation and changes of the legal framework for the transition to sustainable development in the EAEU, the problems and achievements in the implementation of this policy over the period under study (up to and including 2025). This article examines an extensive set of documents that form the basis for interaction between the EAEU member states, and examines in chronological order the corpus of documents that form the legal foundation for the transition to sustainable development. At the same time, both mandatory and recommendation documents are considered that disclose issues of legal instruments for achieving the goals of sustainable development in the EAEU. The main conclusions and value of this work are the problems of their content and functioning within the EAEU system identified on the basis of the analysis of these documents, as well as ways and prospects for their solution on the way to achieving the SDGs.
