Abstract
<jats:p>Проанализированы внешние и внутренние факторы становления регулярного градостроительства в России, показана неоднозначность его оценки теоретиками разных периодов. Высказана идея о роли планировок городов-заводов Урала и Сибири в становлении регулярного российского градостроительства, нуждающаяся в дополнительном исследовании. Авторы показывают безосновательность абсолютизации противоречия геометрической (рациональной) и выразительной (художественной) составляющих градостроительных планов и вводят понятие градостроительной регулярности, предполагающее их синтез. Наряду с этим вводятся в научный оборот ряд сопутствующих понятий, в частности «модуль градостроительной регулярности».</jats:p> <jats:p>The article analyzes the external and internal factors in the development of regular urban planning in Russia, demonstrating the ambiguity of its assessments by theorists of different periods. It proposes the role of the industrial city plans of the Urals and Siberia in the development of regular Russian urban planning, a concept that requires further research. The authors demonstrate the groundlessness of absolutizing the contradiction between the geometric (rational) and expressive (artistic) components of urban plans and introduce the concept of urban regularity, which implies a synthesis of these two. A number of related concepts are also introduced into scholarly circulation, in particular the «module of urban regularity».</jats:p>
