Abstract
<jats:p>The article examines the interaction of international law and corporate mechanisms of sports regulation by analyzing the activities of international sports federations and the functioning of the lex sportiva system. The research focuses on the application of sports federations corporate regulations in the context of a limited volume of the norms of international sports law developed at the level of interstate agreements. The mechanisms for the uniform rules formation for admission to the competitions and the sports disputes resolution are under study. The author pays a particular attention to the correlation of the rules for the regulations of international sports federations with the national legislation norms and international legal obligations of states. The cases of the conflict of corporate norms with the provisions of the national legal order, which make it possible to identify the limits of the sports organizations autonomy, are analyzed. In addition to that the author stresses on the impact of anti-doping regulation on the development of the mechanisms for international legal regulation of the relations in the field of sports. Besides, the article substantiates the position that lex sportiva is a special world-class sports relations transnational control functioning in cooperation with national norms and international legal mechanisms. In this system, international sports federations are considered as institutions that ensure the development and practical application of regulatory standards in international sports.</jats:p>
