Abstract
The article examines the philosophical and aesthetic foundations underlying the integration of the European trumpet into Chinese musical practice. Based on cultural, philosophical-aesthetic, and comparative analysis, the study reveals the symbolic significance of the trumpet in the European musical tradition associated with solemnity, heroism, public rituals, and public space. Particular attention is paid to the distinctive Chinese per-ception of musical timbre, grounded in concepts of harmony, proportionality, inner expressiveness, and the connection between music and the ethical-cosmic order. The study concludes that incorporating the European trumpet into Chinese musical culture is not a mechanical borrowing of the instrument and its sound-producing capabilities, but rather a process of intercultural aesthetic synthesis, through which European timbral symbol-ism acquires new artistic meaning within the Chinese musical system.
