Abstract
This article presents the results of an analysis of Chinese philosophical research. It examines the impact of modern modernization on cultural identity. Philosophical discourse revealed the following. Chinese philoso-phers interpret modernization as a process that influences traditional cultural identity to varying degrees. Tradi-tional cultural identity is interpreted as a historically formed self-identification. They explain cultural identity as a way “outside”. It represents a symbiosis of traditional, modern, ethnic, and religious identities, acting as a factor that determines national security. An analysis of philosophical discourse allowed us to formulate the purpose of the study. It aims to substantiate the role of China’s modernization process in transforming traditional cultural identity into a cultural identity that correlates traditional and modern values in the context of globalization. The scientific novelty of the study is based on the analysis of philosophical discourse, which demonstrated that a scientific position on the interdependence of modernization and identity has emerged in Chinese philosophy. This position influences traditional cultural identity and shapes cultural identity at the global level. This is facili-tated by cultural subjectivity, which reflects national confidence in culture. The conclusion is that modernization is consolidating China’s scientific strengths to form a conceptual justification for its impact on identity.
