Abstract
<jats:p>This article is an attempt to look at the creativity of prominent sculptor Anton Popel through the prism of diversity of controversial performances in the works of artists of the XX – beginning of XXI century. The phenomena occurring in the arts today is analyzed. Urban painting is being characterized, while it is born where the City inspires the artist, which has considerable power potential. Article points the attention to the deep need of active popularization holistic picture of Ukrainian art and culture, comprehensive understanding of the processes that form nowadays professional knowledges of future architects and designers. Various generations of Lviv artists worked on the artistic image of these Popel's works. The iconography of the city of Lviv, which can tell about various changes in the architectural space with the help of a colourful palette, requires study, classification, and scientific analysis.</jats:p>
