Abstract
<jats:p>The study is devoted to the comprehension of communicative errors in the speech of migrant bilinguals. The article is based on the hypothesis that communicative errors of this category of people are emblematic and allow us to identify both the person's identity and relevant information about them (their status, origin, belonging to a particular culture, age, and health), as well as the type of their communicative behavior. The bilingual communicative behavior of a migrant can be considered "pure" because it manifests communication in extreme conditions: Expressing thoughts in a foreign language requires a lot of energy and mobilization of the thinking process, involving all the linguistic material known to the speaker. Therefore, involuntary, communicatively significant violations and errors in the perception and understanding of speech are not fictitious, but rather a real emblem of the bilingual nature of migrants' communicative behavior. In order to achieve communicative success and find common ground in the dialogue of cultures, it is necessary to form not only communicative but also intercultural competence in the process of teaching Russian as a foreign language to bilingual migrants. This will help to overcome xenophobia and existing stereotypes towards both the indigenous population of the Russian Federation and the migrants themselves. The correct interpretation of emblematic communicative errors in speech and communicative behavior can be the key to mutual understanding between bilingual migrants and the indigenous population of the Russian Federation, and to the unity of people of different nationalities.</jats:p>
