Abstract

<jats:p>The textbook reveals the concept of municipal law as a branch of law, the historical and theoretical foundations of local self-government, the legal, territorial, organizational and economic basis of local self-government, the structure and organization of the work of its bodies, as well as the competence of local self-government and inter-municipal cooperation. The manual is provided with questions for self-control and lists of recommended literature, and also contains options for intermediate tests and a list of questions designed to conduct control tests in order to identify the level of assimilation of educational material. The material is presented taking into account the current legislation as of February 10, 2026, including changes in connection with the adoption of amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation (approved by a nationwide vote on July 1, 2020), as well as Federal Law No. 33 FZ dated 03/20/2025 "On General Principles of Organizing Local Self-Government in a Unified System of Public Authority". Meets the requirements of the latest generation of federal state educational standards for higher education. For teachers, students, cadets and trainees of higher educational institutions of a legal profile, for persons receiving advanced secondary specialized legal education, as well as additional education.</jats:p>
