Abstract
<jats:p>The purpose of the textbook is to define the role and place of Jewish philosophy in the complex spiritual, ideological and cultural complex that appears in the science called "Eastern Philosophy." It is based on the methodological principle of a comprehensive consideration of philosophical, socio-historical and cultural aspects. The article analyzes the main religious and philosophical teachings that are ideologically related to Judaism and Jewish culture and have been developing for about one and a half thousand years — from Philo of Alexandria (I century) to medieval Kabbalah (XIII-XV centuries). The presentation and analysis of the content of Jewish philosophical doctrines is conducted taking into account the latest cultural studies in the field of the history of the Jewish religion and the Jewish ethnic group in the ancient world and the medieval era. Special attention is paid to developing the necessary skills to study primary sources presented by the most reputable and qualified Russian translations. Meets the requirements of the latest generation of federal state educational standards for higher education. For students studying the disciplines of "History of Philosophy", "Oriental Philosophy", "Religious Studies", "History and Religion of Judaism", teachers and for anyone interested in ancient and medieval philosophy.</jats:p>
