Understanding Persons with Hearing Loss and Their Families

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>The purpose of this chapter is to provide a resource for understanding the intersection of diverse client populations and person- and family-centered care across the lifespan. By implementing person-centered care, audiologists can deliver compassionate, culturally responsive, and equitable services while addressing health disparities. Addressing factors that contribute to health disparities, such as discrimination and social determinants of health, equips providers to offer more informed counseling and treatment.</jats:p>
