<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>This chapter examines the significance of inclusive innovation in shaping the direction and impact of technological progress, particularly in the context of artificial intelligence (AI). Drawing on the Innovator Diversity Pilots Initiative, it provides empirical insights into how inventor diversity affects the problems solved, who benefits, and how inclusive participation can be fostered within organizations. The chapter identifies systemic frictions that limit invention activity among underrepresented groups, particularly at early stages of the innovation pipeline, and evaluates interventions designed to mitigate these effects. It also highlights the roles of education and mentoring, public-private partnerships, institutional support, and policy change to build invention capital and improve innovation outcomes. This chapter concludes by discussing promising ways in which AI is being used to advance equity in innovation, which could form the basis of “AI diversity pilots.”</jats:p>
