Abstract

Abstract
If a prevention program is going to be implemented anywhere, manuals are needed. This chapter describes the training manuals and how they are used. In the case of the FAST program, the training includes manuals as well as six days of training spread over six months. For a program to be widely disseminated, one must train trainers. The process of training trainers is described. When one disseminates a program, one quickly learns that adaptations happen whether one wants them to. Adaptation and dissemination are described in this chapter. To research a program, the core components must be identified, and what is drift versus an acceptable adaptation must be determined. Examples of each are included in this chapter.
