Abstract
Abstract
In addition to exploring concepts of conflict formation and transformation through lenses of unity/diversity and negative/positive conflict, this chapter delves into narrative frameworks to deepen our understanding of the encounter theory approach. Eisler’s partnership model and Hardy’s concept of conflict as a story provide valuable insights into the dynamics of conflict resolution. The chapter then confronts the challenges of perceiving difference as violence before introducing encounter theory peace practices (praxes), offering a structured approach to address violence. Finally, this chapter connects theory with practice by presenting an encounter theory methodology for translating insights into tangible actions, emphasizing the importance of practical application in fostering positive change and transformation.
