<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>This chapter serves as an encyclopedia of contemporary human violence, comprehensively exploring its various manifestations. It commences by delving into the cultural violence of dehumanization and extraction, recognized as a foundational source from which other forms of violence emanate. Subsequently, it meticulously defines and illustrates examples of direct, structural, cultural, political, and environmental violence, providing readers with a holistic understanding of each. Moreover, it sheds light on a new form of violence, technological violence, which impacts both human and natural realms. Inclusive of self-directed forms, such as self-harm and suicidal violence, this chapter offers a thorough examination of the multifaceted nature of violence in contemporary society. By encompassing a diverse array of violent expressions, this chapter aims to deepen readers’ comprehension of the complex interplay among individual, societal, and environmental factors contributing to the perpetuation of violence in our world today.</jats:p>
