<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p> This chapter provides clinical microbiology information on the species of the genus <jats:italic>Bordetella</jats:italic> and related genera (i.e., <jats:italic>Achromobacter</jats:italic> , <jats:italic>Alcaligenes</jats:italic> , <jats:italic>Kerstersia</jats:italic> , <jats:italic>Advenella</jats:italic> , and <jats:italic>Paenalcaligenes</jats:italic> ). Besides a taxonomic overview and a detailed description of these genera, it provides up‐to‐date information on their clinical significance, epidemiology, and techniques that can be used for isolation, identification, and typing. </jats:p>
