Abstract

<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>Rational choice and cost–benefit analyses of language policies and language planning efforts are a subset and consequence of the relatively recent expansion of intellectual inquiry in language planning to include microeconomic phenomena (one of which is rational choice) and macroeconomic considerations (i.e., cost–benefit analyses).</jats:p>
